FAQ

COVID 19

Government guidelines for the beauty industry are adhered to.

I have sensitive skin, what products do you use?

I use a wide variety of products that work well on different skin types and they last all day!

Products include: MAC Cosmetics, NARS, Charlotte Tilsbury ,Benefit, Bobbie Brown, Laura Mercier, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Yves Saint Laurent. If you have sensitive skin and/or you have any favourite product, just let me know.

Should my hair be freshly washed before the trial run?

It would be best to have your hair dry when I arrive, you can either wash it the day before the trial, or if you prefer to wash your hair daily, you can wash it on the day. Please don’t use any deep conditioners, leave-in products, 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioners and please don’t straighten your hair.

Would you like me to wear my usual makeup for the trial run?

If you would like to show me your regular makeup then yes, but I’m more than happy just chatting to you about what makeup you usually wear and then spending time helping you find your perfect wedding day look!

Do I need my veil and hair accessories for the trial run?

No, it’s by no means essential. It is more important to get a hairstyle that is perfect for you – that way the hair accessories always look good.

Do I need to collect images of the styles I like?

It’s always helpful to get a selection of images together showing styles that you like, don’t worry – they can be completely different looks – it will just give us an idea of the sort of things you might like to try. Please send me the images in advance, I’m more than happy to look at them before we meet for the trial run.

Do the bridesmaids/brides mum need to have a trial run?

It’s usually just the bride, but I’m happy to do a trial run for any members of your bridal party if they are concerned about their hair and makeup for the ‘big day’.

From my experience, once the bride is happy everyone else relaxes and is happy to meet me on the wedding day for the first time. They are welcome to come along on the trial day to discuss their requirements.

When should I have my trial run?

There’s no set time frame, however, most people have their trial run anything from 6 months to 1 week before the wedding. If you’re having sleepless nights thinking about how you’re going to look on your wedding day I’m happy to do your trial earlier – no problem!

What if I'm not happy after my trial?

I will be in no hurry, take as long as you like to get your 'look' just the way you want it.

How much time do you need on the wedding day?

This all depend on how you decide to have your hair and makeup. I’ll be able to work out the exact timings for the big day once you’ve had your trial run. I always allow plenty of time, making sure you’re ready and relaxed, with enough time to get your dress on, have some photos taken and relax before you make your big entrance.

What happens if you are ill on my wedding day?

Whatever the time of your wedding, I will arrive in plenty of time ensuring you’re ready on time on your big day. Should I have an accident or become unwell I am in regular contact with a number of excellent makeup artists, so back-up should be available. I keep records of every trial run… so your perfect look can be achieved.
